AN INTERNATIONAL FORUM ON HUMAN RIGHTS FACING THE UNITED NATIONS. The festival, which faces the UN Human Rights Council, is an independent and outspoken Platform that informs, mobilizes and denounces, without any form of complacency, human rights violations wherever they occur.

At the heart of Geneva, the international capital of human rights, the FIFDH is a relay for human right defenders working in the field. It aims to highlight violations of human dignity through films and discussions bringing together filmmakers and human right defenders.

The approach of the Festival is both cultural and political, its program strives to raise awareness and encourage increased involvement of the public.
