About Kultura Film Festival

Kultura Film Festival is a platform that opens discussions on culture that focuses on the lenses of human dignity and human rights. It aims to amplify the calls of the narratives that reflect our current state of humanity in the Philippines and neighboring countries- and in the future, the world.

Culture and Human Dignity

Human dignity and identity are inextricably linked to culture. Understanding the relationship between cultural and human rights is therefore critical for the protection and promotion of culture as well as people's rights. Cultural rights compel us to consider the rights of persons and communities in connection to culture, and to link cultural heritage and expressions to the people who create them.

Being a citizen, a member of a community, and, more broadly, a member of society requires access to and enjoyment of culture. Individual and community cultural rights have never been more vital than now, when artists, cultural minorities, cultural heritage, and cultural expressions are increasingly under attack.
